![]() ![]() What it says about you: You are someone (an older millennial, perhaps) who has a lot of anxieties about potentially having child of your own. That's hard to judge, of course, but did they truly think through what that means for their two surviving kids? On the other hand, it's heavily implied that they made the decision to have a child out of grief for the one they lost in the film's opening moments. Contraception and/or safe abortion methods aren't likely to be readily available after the dissolution of society. They love each other and probably got horny at some point. And yet I kept wondering why these two were having another kid in the first place. Evelyn and Lee built a box-like contraption with an oxygen mask to hide their newborn. ![]() How the hell are you going to stop an infant from screaming? Turns out the movie did offer some explanation for that. The minute I noticed that Evelyn was pregnant I thought: Babies cry. However, some of these gripes are more legitimate than others, and all probably say more about the person voicing them than they do about the plot. ![]() If A Quiet Place had stopped to explain every detail of its universe it wouldn't have been nearly as entertaining. Lee (Krasinski), the dad, is quietly-get it?-resentful of his daughter Regan (Millicent Simmonds), even as he tries to develop a hearing aid that will work for her. ![]() In a prologue we see how they lost their youngest member flash forward and the matriarch, Evelyn (Emily Blunt), is pregnant. Blink-182's Mark Hoppus even asked his followers: "tell me the plot holes!"Ī Quiet Place follows the Abbotts, a family trying to live as tranquilly and silently as possible when they are besieged by ravaging terrors. In fact, fans have taken to social media to air their concerns with various inconsistencies or logical leaps they noticed. But it's not the only point of contention. Did the director take into account flatulence? So far, Krasinski hasn't weighed in on that. The film takes place in a post-apocalyptic society overtaken by monsters who viciously maul anything that makes a noise. John Krasinski's movie A Quiet Place is by all measures a success: Critics love it, it's making bank, Chris Pratt thinks it's "freaking dope."
